Southam United Bowling Club - history

Southam United Bowling Club was founded in 1984, when a green was laid at Southam United Football Club, Banbury Road, Southam. In 2018 the club moved to it's own facilities in Lark Road, Southam. The Club is mixed and is made up of approximately 30 men and 20 ladies. There are around 40 mixed fixtures per season consisting of both friendlies and Kineton League. In addition the ladies section have about 15 matches on a Wednesday and also compete in the Stratford Herald Triples league on Fridays evenings whilst the men compete in two midweek leagues, Wednesday afternoons and Monday evenings.

The Club is a member of the local Kineton and District Bowls League and is also affiliated to Bowls England, Warwickshire Womens Bowls Association, Warwickshire County Bowls Association, Rugby Bowls Association and South Warwickshire Bowls Association.
The Club has 2 qualified coaches and open evenings are held for beginners. Out of season we hold twice weekly kurling sessions.  We have an active Social committee who are busy organising fund raising events toward our new clubhouse and green. In September 2018 we signed a 99 year lease on the new clubhouse and green in Lark Road, Southam. New Members are always welcome no matter whether experienced bowlers or not - for any further information please contact the Club Secretary: Ted Coupe on 01926 612507.
