After a season that I a sure we would all rather forget it has been decided to close the green after September 20th to allow Avonmore to do the autumn work. As we have been unable to have any club fixtures this year it has been decided to have a club gala on Sunday September 20th at 1 p.m. when we will have a final chance to catch up on all the gossip before we break up for the close season when because it is very unlikely there will be any social events of kurling this side of New Year. The format for the gala will depend on the number of members who want to play but will either be based on the Gill Dunne format, i.e. round robin pools culminating with a final or drawn triples. Although there will be no food the bar will be open as there are a number of out of date drinks to be disposed of! I have added the fixture to our website and I would appreciate it if all members could update their availability for the gala irrespective of whether they can come or not in order that I can get some idea of numbers and can plan ahead. Also I believe that one or two social members might like to come but obviously we are restricted to a total of 30. Also as we have not had the opportunity to dress up this year it would be nice if everyone wore whites on this occasion. The AGM is being postponed for the time being until next year but the committee will be meeting in October to discuss a number of options on how we go forward. If I don't see you on the day please keep safe and I hope to see you next year.
